Bottom Up Blinds Create Versatile Privacy Options Instantly

Bottom up blinds are just as the name implies.  They are pulled up from the bottom and adjustable for a number of varying privacy, shade or sunlight requirements. There uniqueness allows them to be all three at once or a varied combination.

Bottom up blinds are also sometimes referred to as bottom up shades, bottom up/top down blinds or shades also. For example, you can lower the upper part for more sunlight while keeping the bottom half lowered for privacy.

Most blinds are designed to focus on reducing glare, UV rays and harsh sunlight. However the primary purpose of bottom up blinds is to provide privacy. They are very popular in cities where buildings are close together, apartment complexes and condos that face common areas or the street. Good examples of bottom up blinds are those referred to as Roman shades or Roman blinds. Usually, made of wood they provide the ultimate privacy.

Bottom up blinds are available in as many designs and styles as most other blinds. They have the neutral colors, dazzling fabrics and quality materials you'd expect for dressing any room in the home. Installation is fairly easy if you have the skills and tools. They have excellent control systems that are nearly maintenance free over the life of the blinds.

Bottom up blinds integrate easily into most decorating styles. Their versatility is suited for the elegant retreat, the classic sophisticated manor house, and any place you might imagine.  They’ll provide a level of luxury and elegance that rivals their counterparts.

These blind options are certainly worth checking out. They can be combined with valances and pelmets to create uniquely distinctive looks that you won't find in a kit. These blinds are well suited for most applications whether you have a large picture window, small bathroom windows, patio doors and a variety of other places.

Bottom up blinds are not limited to vertical applications. They can easily be installed at an angle, slanted or horizontal. If your blinds are constructed using fabric, you need not worry. The engineering that goes into the design adjusts automatically to keep the fabric positioned properly for a great fit.

Although touch systems for these blind configurations are standard, using newer technology which employs motorized units you can extend or retract the blinds with push button manually wall units or remotely.

To give you that sleek, tailored look it is recommended that you install the blinds outside the window recess where there is a narrow sill. If you decide to stack the shades from top to bottom, this will provide a more distinctive look to the overall window space.

The moving parts of the shades are generally well concealed. Placing them at the sides of the window frames make them less noticeable. Cafe rods or brass poles provide the more elegant solution for this design option, however net wires work as well.

For the fabric application pleats fall below the bottom edge of the blind depending on the distance it is lowered or opened. Be cautious though when installing cloth shades in areas where there is moisture. Although you have a range of solutions for sunlight and privacy, some configurations might suffer from a damp or moisture prone environment.

You need to visit your local merchant who specializes in bottom up blinds. Blinds are usually not the first thought when we think of window coverings. But if you want the unusual and the extraordinary, dress your windows with bottom up blinds and you'll be glad.
